Answers to Frequently Asked Questions…

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER

February 10th, 2020      EXTENDED Deadline for early bird discount of $30.

February 24th, 2020    Deadline for early bird discount of $20. 

March 15th, 2020 – Deadline for FOOD vendor registration.  Must have all items.

April 19th, 2020 – No refund on or after this exhibitor cancel date. After this date, late sign-up fee of $50.

April 27th, 2020 – Deadline for all exhibitors.

ABOUT VegFest: 

The average attendance of the festival (formerly WorldFest) has been about 5,000 people. Last year (2018) we had 10,000+ visitors and we hope to get more in 2020!

On average over 50% of the exhibitors and sponsors return each year.

Here’s what our past exhibitors had to say when responding to an exit survey: 

  • *93% said that, compared to other events, the response to their booth was as good or better.  60% said it was better!
  • *90% said the festival satisfied or exceeded their expectations!
  • *90% of our exhibitors are interested in returning to the festival!
  • *63% said they interacted with at least 100 people at their booth.  13% said they had over 400 booth visitors!

  • *Fun and food are overwhelmingly (53%) the primary reasons people attended.
  • *People have fun!  98% of the attendees would recommend the festival to others and would return next year!
  • *The festival motivates and inspires! An impressive 78% reported they planned to take action and contact on organization they discovered as a result of attending.
  • *The planet is better for it! When asked if they envision themselves changing their current lifestyle to be more environmentally friendly as a result of attending, 26% of the respondents said YES.
  • *Animals’ lives are saved!  When asked if they would consider switching to a veg diet as a result of attending, 14% of the respondents said YES, which results in approximately saving 26,500 to 52,000 animal lives each year!

VegFest will be open to the public from 10:30 am to 6:30 p.m. on May 3rd, 2020.

VegFest will be held at 6004-6076 Woodley Ave, Lake Balboa, CA 91316  (between Victory and Burbank Boulevards) in the San Fernando Valley – search for us on Waze or Google Maps – Click Here for a map!

The 2020 VegFest festival will be the 20th held by Towards Freedom, a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

ABOUT EXHIBITING:  

Registration – Pre-registration is required.  All exhibitors must be signed-up before the day of the festival.  Please fill out the on-line application.

Check-in – Exhibitors can check-in and set-up on Saturday, May 2nd, 2020 the day before the festival from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Minimum security will be provided during the closed hours between Friday evening and Saturday evening and gates will be locked. Security guards will be at the park, but no guarantees can be provided for the safety of your supplies, equipment or goods.  Towards Freedom accepts no responsibility for vendor property at any time.

Additional check-in and set-up is on Sunday, May 3rd, 2019 from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Vehicles over one ton will not be allowed into the park at any time. You MUST ARRIVE BEFORE 9:00 a.m. in order to drive into the park to unload your supplies. ALL vehicles MUST BE out of the park by 9:30 a.m. in accordance with strictly regulated Los Angeles City fire codes.

Cancellation – Any exhibitor canceling or withdrawing from VegFestLA on or before 4/19/2020, we refund you minus $50. If you cancel after that date, you forfeit the entire payment.  In the event of cancellation or no-show a half hour after the scheduled arrival time, Towards Freedom has the right to reassign the reserved space without any refund to the exhibitor. 

Parking – On the day of the event, once unloaded your vehicle must be moved to the parking along Woodley Avenue or parking lot on Woodley Avenue across the street from the event where parking will be free until 10:00 a.m. (when the festival begins), and will cost $10 per vehicle after 10:00 a.m. The parking lot closest to the event will NOT be available for exhibitors to park, even temporarily while unloading, NO exceptions.  This parking lot is available to all vehicles with DMV provided handicap placards displayed in their dashboard.  If you park on the street please obey all the posted parking signs (there is 4-hour parking only on Woodley Ave.)

Attendees and volunteers will park on nearby streets or in the lot across the street.

Canopy – We strongly recommend bringing a canopy or renting one from Towards Freedom for the event.

Electricity – There are limits to the amount of electricity available for exhibitors.  Please see the Electricity Fact Sheet for more information.

Booth number and location – Your booth number and location will be provided WHEN YOU ARRIVE to set up on Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning.  Exhibitors cannot choose their booth placement location.  Advanced requests when filling out your application will be taken under advisement and best efforts will be made to accommodate, but no guarantees are given that your location preference will be available.

General Admission – FREE!

Volunteer and Exhibitor/Vendor Entrance/Exit All Exhibitor staff/volunteers coming/going will have to go to the VIP/Volunteer/Exhibitor check-in area until the festival begins.  After 10:30am please enter through the Main Entrance at the North-West corner of the park.

Take-down Details – You may leave at any time during the day. However, no one will be allowed to bring vehicles into the park until after Fire Department authorization, expected to be between 6:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

Vegan and Content Guideline Reminder – Per your Exhibitor/Sponsor Contract application, this is a completely vegan event. If you display, offer as samples, promote or sell any animal products or any products containing animal ingredients, or if your materials promote animal experimentation, you will be fined $50 and may be asked to leave the event immediately, with no refund.  VegFest volunteers will be visiting each booth to verify compliance.

Please review before arriving ALL contract terms agreed to when you submitted your exhibitor application.

VegFest is a compassionate, family-friendly, and peace loving festival. We would like to ensure that no, merchandise, or items sold depict direct violence against humans or animals.

Recycling Requirements – Food vendors:  Using only compostable/biodegradable plates and supplies is required. All other exhibitors: please use recyclable materials.

Theft – Never leave cash boxes or materials unattended. VegFest /Towards Freedom is not responsible for lost or stolen cash or lost or stolen merchandise.
